What inspired you to do well? Or, what would you have liked your parents to say to you when you brought home poor grades? What advice would you give parents to encourage their children in school?
My dad did a great job of convincing us that life would be much happier if we did our homework and did our best in school.
The alternative would not make us happy, so why would we choose it?What advice would you give parents to encourage their children in school?
always show intrest but never smother them
if a child feels even the least bit smothered they will not try at all in school
Well, kind of have to think about why the child is struggling.
Are they learning disabled?
Are they not spending time studying, and more time socializing after school.
Just encourage them that It pays off at the end. Kindly remind them to do their work, so they can enjoy other activities. (Free time)
my mom used the belt on me, but the best thing i think you could do is show them you love them, believe in them, and no matter what you will always be there
Im not sure what I would have wanted my mother to say. But I would have wanted her to act like she cared. I would have liked for her to do homework with me. I would have loved for her to be involved with my teachers. This is sad for me. I just wanted her to show me that school was important to her as well. I hope this helps I know its hard to spend a lot of time with your childs teachers. But I think if you pop in every now ant then to show that you care they will enjoy this. You can peak in and see your child doing well so you can say when they get home good job today in math etc. Good encuragement always works best. Its love.
Depending on how old the children are, they should understand that getting good grades at school is only for the best. (But nothing really matters until the HSC). The parents really need to stick to their child and support them all the way as well as being interested in their work and school-life. If you brought home poor grades, then parents should basically give encouragement. If the child really refuses to do well in school, then bribery, but try to stay away from that.
hope that helped!
