What advice would you give to a very good friend who kept getting TD, in almost every question he answered?

A very good friend of my family loves yahoo answers, and he tries very hard to keep the seniors site well oiled, and running smoothly, yet all he gets for his efforts is TD, what advice can I give him.

10 points for best answer and thank you in advance. What advice would you give to a very good friend who kept getting TD, in almost every question he answered?

My advise would be J:M, Redc()r, Instant Carma and all of the other he/she uses move to another categoryWhat advice would you give to a very good friend who kept getting TD, in almost every question he answered?

Judging from your statements, it would appear that he must answer

with either rude or insulting or unaceptable answers. Perhaps he

trys to make a joke and fails miserably. Or perhaps he has a person-

ality that is judgemental of the asker and it's reflected in his answers.

I would have that person analize his remarks and see where he

could revise his sentence structure to be more acceptible and is in

keeping with the guidelines of YA.
I would suggest you tell your friend to just answer the Q as others do and develop a sense of humor and not chat the hell out of the space with criticism of others after the answer is given.

Directing the parade of others is not desired and is boring the hell out of everyone. If your friend could refrain it would be a great show of respect for others and would be noticed.

This behavior is also inDICative (very good word here) of a person not having the ability to exercise (so to speak)other aspects of their life.

Bulling others is a very telling behavior about the person doing the bulling. Therefore...the TD.

It might help if your friend posted a real Q once in a while.

Give the 10 to yourself for asking.
If your friend is courteous, non-judgmental, does not rant, harass or outright insult others, and is an all round good addition to SC, there should not be very few, if any TDs. Some of us are thinking that Yahoo is automatically giving one thumbs down, due to it occurring the second an answer is posted. How about if your friend would give a peace offering like........balloons, that's it, balloons! There is at least one person, and a few others here that really like balloons. They must, we hear about them almost on a daily basis.
Thumbs-Down dear Polly is sometimes the only way, some of the poor wretches hiding behind their avatars, (with bloodshot and vacant eyes, hovering above a dusty old keyboard) manage to feed their sad addiction to self smugness my dear. Your friend is just another innocent victim,of this loophole in the perfect yahoo system.
Tell him not to fret !!! He may have TD Trolls that follow him around. . He may give the best answer to a Q and still get a lot of TD's. . . They don't count for anything. . . I wish Yahoo would show who gives TU's and TD's instead of showing who thought the Q interesting !! Now THAT would be interesting !!!!
Tell your friend that that is the price one must pay to enjoy Y/A. Why just a few days ago I got 20 thumbs down for my answer. I was very proud of those thumbs down because to me, it meant I was right and I rubbed a few raw nerves with my answer. But either way, there is a group of trolls hanging around giving thumbs down.
TDs are rampant around here...as far as I'm concerned they don't mean anything...I ignore them...your friend would be wise to do the same.

EDIT: The MINUTE I clicked submit...and looked at my answer, I already had three...see what I mean.

EDIT: Now there are only two TDs and 2 TUs...it's gotta be a glitch.

EDIT: Now there are 0 TUs and 1 TD....
I've noticed when your friend isn't here, as he often isn't on Mondays until late afternoon, there are very few TD's. There is a saying: As you give, so will you receive. Here's my advice: tell your friend, you made your bed, go lie in it.
I just figured out what TD stands for- Thumbs Down. I've noticed that with some questions there are many thumbs downs in the answers, and it seems that someone is doing it for their own purposes. I'm not sure what can be done.
I still do not know why ';Your Friend'; Needs to think he has to fix this section in the first place and keep us oiled at all? I am Running Just fine!! If he just went about his own daily Business w/o concerning all else..I believe we would all be OK!...
Maybe he needs to step down as the ';maintenance man'; %26amp; go with the flow.

edit: J!m...How do you know what people do here? Are you now psychic? If this is such a bad place to be, why are you STILL here?
What advice can you give him?

Tell him/her to read the Yahoo Answers Community Guidelines %26amp; Terms of Service Agreement that he/she agreed to when he/she signed onto this site.
And just what adverse symptoms is he experiencing from this behaviour of strangers?

Perhaps a thicker skin may help.
Ignore them. Some sad souls thumbs down every answer no matter how good or accurate they are.
Polly, tell him to answer with stupid answers, or answer with a question like I did. Say what???
Tell him not to worry about it. I get a lot. To me that just means those people do not agree with my answer.
Why does he care? It's better than being violated.
Sometimes there are glitches and everyone gets TD. I've gotten more than my fair share of them. He is not alone.
He's an adult. What makes you think he needs your advice?
My advice?

Play nice.
Why would anyone care? PLenty of people do it just to make other answers look bad, and consequently shine a better light upon their own.

Personally, if I see a question where everyone up to a point has a TD -irrespective of the quality of their answer - and then the next person does not, I will give that person one on the assumption that he's denigrated everyone else's efforts in order to make his own paltry contribution look somewhat better.
Not to worry about thumbs down. In Senior Citizen category they are meaningless. People wont even read the answer, they'll just look at who answers, then issue thumbs up or down. Much like the advice given in many of their answers and answers to your question, meaningless.

Personality it does not bother me. It is just another form of attention. I'd be more concerned if no thumbs up or down were issued.
I'm pretty sure he has touched a few nerves. I thought he was your son? Make up your mind!

Edit: There is a glitch again, I had three TDs as soon as I posted my question.
I'm confused. What is TD, and why cant your friend ask his own question?
sorry what is TD?
