I am almost positve that I have a learning disability. That does not mean that I think I'm a total idiot. But, this has been humiliating and challenging at previous jobs. What can someone do with this problem? What advice can you offer for someone with a learning disability that seeks employment?
Maybe you should go into a trade like welding, plumbing, electrician. I am telling you the truth, these people make more money than college graduates in today's job market which is extremely competitive and cut throat. Then, you can just perfect your skills, becoming more talented, versus feeling humiliated by being singled out. Another good one, sales. My old boss who was Director of Sales could not even spell, much less did any office work whatsoever. He just knew how to talk the talk. What advice can you offer for someone with a learning disability that seeks employment?
My friend was diagnosed with learning disability going from one menial job to another being at the mercy of employers until he discovered that he is 'just' dyslectic.
That's when he decided that enough is enough and that he is sick and tired of being sick and tired so he became an entrepreneur and learned how to run business. Long story short -- that's 15 years ago, he is 40 now and he is a millionaire, retired. All those smart guys and his former employers are still working.
What is it you can't learn?
