Where can i seek advice for a good digital camera?

I'm planning to buy a new digital camera for my upcoming trips. is there any good sites i can browse for a camera which fits my needs. i would like to snap pictures during the night with an image stabilizer. which means if my hands are shaking. the pictures taken would still be still. my recent camera don't seem to hav this feature.Where can i seek advice for a good digital camera?
Image stabilization will NOT allow you to take perfect night shots. For that, a tripod or something to set the camera on will still be needed. Image stabilization is not a miracle worker. All it does is ';filter'; out the little jerks in your camera but it cannot keep the lens perfectly steady for a 2-4 second exposure time of night shots. The purpose of image stabilization is mainly for low light/indoor shots or high zoom shots where a little bit more stabilization helps. This will produce a good deal more sharpness in pictures taken in these settings.

To read up on cameras, my favorite place is DCresource.com. However, some others are Steves-digicams.com, dpreview and many others.Where can i seek advice for a good digital camera?
Don't know where you live, but after you've checked out the net, you should hit a local mom-and-pop camera store. They have the answers and the service. Your concerns are way beyond a big-box store or an Internet site.

Me, I'm waiting for something that beats Kodachrome 25 and will take my old Pentax lenses.
I think You will make the newest Canon EOS 400D as you choice:)

Canon shocked the camera market with the introduction of the 8 Megapixel EOS 300D. It was a price breakthrough that would prove very important for the DSLR market. Suddenly, a digital SLR camera had become available for the novice photographer. And things didn鈥檛 end there; since this event, digital SLR models have been in high demand. After a year and a half, Canon introduced the EOS 350D, which easily matched the success of its predecessor. It was a pretty safe bet that the successor of the EOS 350D would once again follow a year and a half later. Such was indeed the case. Canon鈥檚 latest DSLR camera turns out to be the Canon EOS 400D, a ten Megapixel model. Remarkably, the EOS 350D will remain in stores for now. That doesn鈥檛 change the fact, however, that the Canon 400D should be seen as its successor.';

the new canon sd700is has image stabilization under high iso settings (used for low light conditions) which would decrease the amount of jittering in the pics you take.
