I need some advice on plastering a long wall?

I've recently done a plastering course, and now feel reasonably confidentt to tackle some jobs in my home. I have fairly long walll to plaster, and am a little worried that I might not work fast enough to get the second coat on before the first coat goes off. Does anyone have any tips? I thought about using plaster flatness guides to section off the walls, but will I be able to ';key'; in a new section into a dried section?

Thanks in advance for any advice!I need some advice on plastering a long wall?
how long is a long wall ?..if more than 20 feet and you are new to the game .then by all means do it in two halves ..but modern plaster is very stable and will hold on a wall (trowable) for the best part of an hour if you keep the windows and doors shut ..if you do cut it in half then wet the edge of the new bit and start at that edge and the two edges will blend in easily don't take any notice of what Micheil says ..he is not a plasterer ..don't need pva ..use board finish ..and to get a good finish you do need two coats ..as your coursework will have shown ..if you do it as he says then the wall will bubble badly ..just be confident in yourself and it will be easy .stay calm .you don't get good luck you make it ps ..i am assuming it is a plasterboard wall ..if its a wall with a browning coat ..then apply the top coat the same day if possibleI need some advice on plastering a long wall?
The best way to do something like that is you carefully pick up the phone and call someone else to do it

how long is the wall ? you should be fine with 20 feet in one go.

PVA the wall.

Get the first coat on, leave it 10 mins ( or probably start straightaway from the other end which will be going off )

Skim - you just need one coat anyway.

Work it flat, spraying with a garden spray to keep it workable - you know, one of those 1 litre sprays you use to feed plants in the greenhouse

I wouldn't partition it off, you will likely get crack lines in the future.

Use a proper mixer or drill paddle, mixing by hand is a waste of time and too inconsistant.

Use some decent %26amp; loud music - that helps

And remember, if it goes wrong its not the end of the world, you can re-skim if you need to. relax %26amp; have patience, plastering is a bit of a learning curve and you need to learn when to leave it alone.
I don't exactly know what you mean but I do know what plasterers did years ago before the advent of sheet rock. First the would lath the walls wood or wire lath. A scratch coat was apllied to the lath usually a brown rough mixture at the time it came in premixed bags. Finally the smooth white plaster was applied for the finish coat. I dont know if this helps but that was the process. Its best to finish a section at a time if your doing a wall finish it.

Does anyone have advice or recommendation for having a dishwasher installed into a Mobile home?

This is a double wide ( but box shape) It's a 2005 year model. This is Not to improve Value as I am quite aware mobile homes value goes Down NOT Up. This is just for a growing family and hand washing takes so much time/water. This will be in Northeast Georgia but any info on cost or anything. We will not live here forever but for the time being.... Thanks for any advice.Does anyone have advice or recommendation for having a dishwasher installed into a Mobile home?
Your kitchen probably has been designed to recieve a dishwasher,so it should be fairly easy.

On either side of your sink you should have a 24'; base cabinet.Remove this cabinet and a dishwasher will fit in.

You will need to run a wire to feed the D/W and the plumbing is all under the sink so thats no problem.

D/W start at around $200 and you can budget around $200 for plumbing and electrical.Does anyone have advice or recommendation for having a dishwasher installed into a Mobile home?
First you should look to your drought situation in GS. However, you need water no matter what. Lots of mobile homes and modulars come equipped with a DW and there is no reason yours shouldn't have one either. Same drains, same feeds, you will notice a slight downward trend in pressure at other taps while it is filling. But, if you have the counterspace close to your sink, where all the feeds will be, go for it. Even a portable will work. You just connect the hoses to your faucet and put the drain hose into your sink.

Just remember, if your DW has a heat wash and heat dry, your electric bill will go up a bit. I doubt your water bill will increase very much. They don't take much more water than washing and rinsing dishes two or three times a day.

Can sum1 please advice me on howcan i prepare grilled chicken and reuse the marintaion?

Normally when i stored the marination, it used to start giving an odour after three days. not even freezing worked.

I used to marinate the chickens for 12 hours in fridge, then after the chickens were used, i stored in deep freezer. still i found a wierd opdour the next time i used it. please help me advising how i cud restore it.Can sum1 please advice me on howcan i prepare grilled chicken and reuse the marintaion?
You cant do that. You'll get people sick. Listen to ther sanitation lady who replied to your last post. Besides if a health inspector catches you doing this they will shut you down on the spot. Can sum1 please advice me on howcan i prepare grilled chicken and reuse the marintaion?
I want to be gentler than some of the answerers although they are perfectly right. I will say that there is no reason to marinate chicken for 12 hours, unless they are whole and you are brining them. In which case, throw it out after using it.

However, I must mention that you can cook certain marinades on high heat as soon as the chicken is out of it, which is essentially what is happening to it on the chicken.

The trick is that the marinade should be cold the whole time until you cook it.

In fact, you can make an excellent bbq sauce out of the cooked marinade depending on what the ingredients are in it. You may need to strain it as well. Then freeze it.

But why bother or take a chance when marinades are so simple and relatively inexpensive to prepare?
Don't reuse marinades. You can boil them and serve them on the side if they taste good for dipping. (I marinade with Italian dressing from time to time and it is great for dipping and putting over cooked pasta or rice, it has added flavor with the chicken taste. Make sure you cook it, boil it for sanitary purposes.
DO NOT USE A MARINADE THAT YOU HAVE USED ON CHICKEN!!! YOU COULD GET SALMONELA OR SOMETHING.
Unless you want a really, really good bout of Salmonella poisoning, I'd say that the ONLY place used chicken marinade should be stored is in the garbage disposal or in a sealed baggie in the trash!

Either make less marinade so you don't have enough that you'd want to store it - or when you make it - BEFORE you put chicken in it - put half the marinade it in a baggie and freeze it. You can make marinade go a long way if you poke your chicken/pork/beef with a fork all over and then put everything in a big baggie and squeeze all the air out of it so that it's collapsed. Just turn it over in the 'fridge every hour or so, so that the marinade has the change to ooze into all the little fork holes.
I agree with the first answer. The marinade is now full of bacteria from the first chicken and it's shelf life is zero.

Seriously...how expensive can marinade be? If you want to cut corners, try dividing the marinade in two beforehand.
You can't reuse it. Anytime you marinate raw meats, fish you do not reuse the marinade. Especially with the chicken there could be samonila from the chicken in the marinate. Throw it away, throw it away.
You should discard marinade that has been applied to raw meats. Meats, such as red meat, fish, and chicken, may contain unhealthful substances which may enter the marinade, according to health experts. These substances would become neutralized in the cooking process but using the same marinade later in preparation holds the risk of reapplication. If additional flavoring from the marinade is desired, prepare a new batch. DO NOT reuse the marinade!

Marinades are designed to be used once. Using old marinade results in the following:

1 鈥?Meat juice contamination, reducing meat shelf life.

2 鈥?The marinade ingredients are diluted and not absorbed uniformly, thus changing the flavour of future batches.
NEVER re-use any marinade that has been in contact with raw chicken! And always wash every utensil %26amp; cutting board that you've used for raw chicken with anti-bacterial soap! You can get extremely ill, and die, from cross-contamination....

What is some advice for doing your first recital for piano?

I'm a shy person so i hate performing and this will be my first recital in piano. What is some good advice and what should i do if i mess up? Im so scared! What is some advice for doing your first recital for piano?
Walk up to the piano like you would going to class, it's no big deal, you just do it. Make yourself comfortable, sometimes you should anounce yourself if some one doesn't introduct you; just tell them who you are. Imagine for a moment that your piano teacher just asked you to play your recital number, then play as you normally would. Someone out there really enjoys your music, play for them. What is some advice for doing your first recital for piano?
Choose a piece that is easy and yet regarded as one of the best piano pieces in the world

My friend is a grade 8 piano player but played this great grade 2 piece and the teachers all thought he was way better than he was even though its a piece people who have been playing for 3 weeks could do

Try MOONLIGHT SONATA by beethoven

When you play this piece you dont even notice mistakes

(p.s dont try to picture everyone in their underwear!!! IT DOESNT WORK!!!)
Dont get worried about it. You won't make a mistake if you don't worry.

Practice and practice beforehand in order to get the song down, but after that there is nothing you can do.

I have done countless recitals and I find the best thing to help me calm down is take deep breaths in and out. Not only that, but i learned this great trick from a professor who taught this thing called ';brain gym.'; It really Works! What you do is you close you eyes and take deep breaths in and out all while taking your finger and drawing a backwards eight on your thigh. It really helps because it gets your mind off the performance and focuses you on something else.
do the audience a favor, and dont do it at all....

You may want to try traditional chinese medicine (TCM). Since men are responsible for 40% of the infertility problems we face, I've included herbal remedies for women and men.

Herbal Medicine Treatments for Infertility in Women

A variety of herbs have been shown to stimulate the female hormones and functions necessary to conceive. These include:

    鈥?Damiana

    鈥?Dong quai

    鈥?Blue cohosh

    鈥?False unicorn root

    鈥?Ginseng

    鈥?Gotu kola

    鈥?Licorice root

    鈥?Wild yam root

Avoid false unicorn root and wild yam root if there鈥檚 a chance of pregnancy. Those with high blood pressure should also avoid ginseng and licorice root.

Other remedies for women include tea made from stinging nettle seed, wild raspberry leaf , St. John鈥檚 wort or a mixture of red clover blossoms and peppermint.

Herbal Medicine Treatment for Infertility in Men

For men, herbal treatments are centered on a whole body harmony and vigor as well as stimulation of male reproductive hormones. Some herbs often prescribed for infertility in men include:

    鈥?Astragalus extract

    鈥?Saw palmetto

    鈥?Ginseng

    鈥?Damiana

    鈥?Sarsaparilla

    鈥?Yohimbe

Panax ginseng (also known as Chinese or Korean ginseng) is an excellent herbal infertility treatment and has been used as such for centuries. Clinical tests have shown a marked improvement in sperm count and mobility as well as an abeyance of erectile dysfunction, all of which are major issues of male factor infertility. However, ginseng should be avoided if high blood pressure is an issue.

Erectile dysfunction can also be treated with green oat, also known as avena sativa. Another treatment for sperm issues is the Chinese herb yin yang huo, or aceranthus sagittatum.

All herbal supplements should be taken with food or water. Teas should be steeped for one to four hours. Results vary and usually don鈥檛 begin to manifest until a few weeks have passed.
i just read an article in my obgyn's office today about high fat-real dairy icecream increasing a woman's ovary production. wouldn't that be great it's really true.

i've also been told that missionary and doggie positions are best for conception because of penetration. also, tracking your ovulation is key. you can get the predictor kits from a drugstore or mass discounter (i.e. walmart) to keep track. i know your anxious feelings; my husband and i are in the same boat. best of luck!

Does anyone have advice on when to buy flight tickets?

I'm planning a bachelorette party in Las Vegas for October. We're planning on flying from Houston on a Thursday and returning home on Sunday. With rising fuel prices, would it be cheaper to purchase tickets now, or wait until last minute? I know that it's cheaper to fly during the week, but all of the girls work and have limited vacation days. Any advice?Does anyone have advice on when to buy flight tickets?
Southwest usually has really good early fares and they are now only booking through Oct 30th. They are called Fun Fares, so I would get a move on it if possible. They still are not charging for one bag either. All the other carriers are charging up to $25 for each additional bag, no matter what the cost, so pack light!

PS - I have a posting on Craigslist now for $437 worth of airfare for $400! Saving $40 will be nice for those coctails for sure! Let me know if you are interested. I only do paypal :)Does anyone have advice on when to buy flight tickets?
    Now.

Try Southwest out of Hobby.. because, if the prices go down, you can change fares without a penalty. Also check Southwest Vacations to bundle your air/hotel/car and if 10 or more are traveling, go for a group rate (on regular or vacation travel).

You can generally change your tickets for a lower priced fare with all of the other airlines but, by the time they hit you with a 'change fee,' you're probably better off with the higher fare.

    Have fun!
Orbitz.com - I used this site when travelling in the US. I would also recommend looking at individual airlines website so see if any have sales or offers rather than just using seach engines.

Last minute tickets can be cheaper but you risk not getting them. Purchase in advance. Tickets are cheaper.

How much nutritional advice can i give without a nutritionist's license?

I am a recently certified personal fitness instructor (through W.I.T.S.) and I can not seem to find a definitive answer as to how in depth my dietary advice can be without getting into possible legal liability. I realize the obvious answer would be ';None';, but that means I wouldn't be doing my job as best as I could be. I have a thorough and concrete knowledge of nutrition, I merely lack the credentials for now.How much nutritional advice can i give without a nutritionist's license?
Hello, my name is Rachel, I am also a personal trainer, but through AFFA, and I have worked with many people who have asked me what they should eat. When people ask me that question I don't give them meal plans, we are not allowed to do that. What we can do is tell them what to add to their meal plan, such as, 20-30 grams of fiber, balance carbohydrates with their protein and fat, try to avoid trans-fatty foods, limit sat. fat foods and eat all different colors of fruits and vegetables. Also, if you are not familiar with the food pyramid, print one out, that was made from trained perfessionals. If you give your clients that print out it gives them a chance to pick out what they like to eat.How much nutritional advice can i give without a nutritionist's license?
all you have to do is let your client know you're not a licensed nutritionist, but you have the common sense and the knowledge due to the nature of your job that you can give them very good ';advice';. After that you can say as much as you want
